Oil Sketch: Dreaming

Based on one of the kraft paper sketches, this is an oil sketch. It's challenging to translate pen into paint. Sometimes pen is trying to replicate something paint does better, like form modeling.... But then the lines of pen ren't really easy to improve with paint. I like the concept of this painting but want to loosen up the lines in the hair for next time. I think the juxtaposition of formality/informality has potential.
